Holding Hands EP

May 26th, 2014

2013 was a slow year for our band. By contrast, 2014 has seen things moving quickly for us. Founding member and bass player Kazumoto ‘Gizmo’ Shoji decided it was time to hang up his bass to concentrate on family life. This left us with a finished album in our hands which we decided to delay releasing ourselves. Yoshitomo Tanaka soon took up the bass player vacancy and has breathed new life into our sound with his boundless energy. Also, in the time that we were getting our songs ready with him, our album was picked up by the Ricco Label here in Japan. Released on April 15th, it’s been doing well here. We have shows coming up, starting with our release event on June 15th in Kichijoji, new songs we will hopefully be recording soon and more.

So our band was on a little Hiatus at the end of last year, after playing a few shows in Tokyo in September. A child was born, band members moved, family situations changed, and another child is due to be born in May (making 2 of us fathers of 2).

The good news is that we have finished our album that we have worked on for the last 2 years. We are just in the process of choosing tracks and running order etc.

Finding time to get into the studio has been hard with our busy lives, but we did get down to Andys Studio where we practice and record a couple of weeks ago. Matsun got sick and couldn’t make it, so it was just the 3 boys, but we came up with this new groove. Reminds me a bit of Dischord bands such as Hoover or Regulator Watts.

More news on the album when we have it and a show in June I will tell you about later,
