In descending order-

The Unicorns
The Speds
Husker Du
Beat Happening
Dismemberment Plan (although their stuff at the end was kinda buttfuckery)
Guided By Voices
Pavement
Swell Maps
McLusky
Nation of Ulysses

Don't choose bands with dead members, or bands that would release bad music. And....GO!

Guns n Roses
Ben Folds Five
Joy Division (even though the long dead, zombified corpse of Ian Curtis has a band. They're called The Double.)
Q and not U
The Pixies. i know that they're touring, i ve seen them twice, i just say it doesnt count with only two new songs. i want a whole new record.
The Cure (as a trio)
V-tech Orchid
Gang Green
SubHumans
Rising Force (METAL!)
A Tribe Called Quest
The Grateful Dead (with Pigpen and all the originals)
there are more, but mostly bands that have already had a "reunion" of sorts and i want it done right.

The Sundays (although I'm not sure if they ever really split..)
The Boo Radleys
Ooberman
The Delgados

I agree that the Smiths should stay split. And the Stone Roses. Felt would be good. It's the bands that didn't quite achieve everything first time round that I'd like to get back together. The Smiths would risk spoiling everything...

I'd just like to see Beat Happening (whom I don't think ever officially broke-up, but they are more likely to never make music, again) and The Softies together, again. I don't see why The Sofites can't reunite. Jen and Rose are still pals, aren't they? And, Rose is getting back to music, now. Could possibly happen.

i agree w/ the beat happening and softies picks. i'd love to hear something new by either of these two bands...
it's kind of a strange thing that happened w/ the softies, 'cause like beat happening, they never really officially broke up. i guess rose has recorded a new album which will be out sometime this year on double agent, so obviously she's still involved w/ making music. and jen hasn't put away her guitar pick either i don't think, so it's hard to know why they don't work together anymore, but it sure would be nice if they got back together for a new album--heck! even a new 7" would be nice!

my picks:

the cat's miaow
marine girls
blueboy
the best wishes
